WYSIWYG is short for, What You See Is What You Get. This term usually applies to text editors found in many applications today. With a WYSIWYG editor, a person should not have to know any HTML code to produce a web page which has text formatting. For example, HTML authors use tags to bold text. A person using a WYSIWYG editor just highlights the text and applies the bold attribute. The editor adds the HTML code behind the scenes.
