URL is short for Uniform Resource Locator.  If someone asks to see your website, they may say, "Hey, what's the URL?"  They are asking how get to your website.  Another term is "address."  Instead of saying, "Hey, what is the uniform resource locator?"  A person might say..."What's the address?"  Technically speaking, the URL is a combination of identifiers used on the internet. If we use this url as an example: http://www.promediapublishing.com/blog, the first thing we have is the protocol, http://.  This tells us we are using the hyper text transfer protocol.  The promediapublishing.com is the domain.  The /blog points us to the contents of the blog folder.  Protocol + Domain + Location = URL.  Hope that helps!
